CARD 205 Career Development

Career-planning strategies and resources are explored to prepare students for a successful job search and to develop effective methods for career advancement. Activities include self-evaluation, goal setting, company research, personal marketing plans, and interviewing practice. Students are taught vital critical thinking skills to help analyze, evaluate, and compose various business documents including CVs, emails, job application letters, and memos. The students partake in a mock job interview. At the end of the semester students submit a course portfolio containing documents that will form part of their job applications. 2-0-2
